Eligibility Criteria
Should be more than 25 years of age and holding license for 1 year

Insurance Excess
Accident excess insurance in case of accident where the hirer is at fault will be OMR 75/- (if CDW is applied) or OMR 150/- (if CDW is not applied)
If the driver is below the age of 25 years then the accident excess insurance will be OMR 150/- (if CDW is applied) or OMR 250/- (if CDW is not applied). -
Hit and Run (Accident Policy)
In case the renter is involved in an accident where the faulty party is absconding/unknown and the case is registered by ROP (Royal Oman Police) under a Hit And Run code, irrespective of being culpable for his/her offence, he/she has to pay Arabian Desert Shadow full amount of insurance excess listed on the Vehicle Hire Agreement, however police report is a must in such cases.
Driving Conditions & Other Notes for Visitors
- All Vehicles have Comprehensive insurance for the geographical territory of Oman
- Vehicle returned should have the same level of fuel at the time of hiring, fuels charges payable extra.
- Accident due to alcoholic or any narcotics influence will not be cover under insurance and in such cases the Hirer should bear the full cost of repair of the vehicle.
- Damages to the vehicle due to driving thru flooded streams (Wadi) will not be covered under insurance; hence the hirer is responsible for full repair cost.
- Cleaning charges of OMR 5/- will be applicable if the vehicle is returned in a very dirty condition and OMR 30/- for any seat fabric stains.
- Traffic fines during the rental period will be charged directly to the user’s Credit Card.
- Renter should hold an Valid International Driving license or GCC license
- Valid passport and visit visa (for tourists)
- Cleaning charges of OMR 5/- will be applicable if the vehicle is returned in a very dirty condition and OMR 30/- for any seat fabric stains.
- The Hirer should have a valid original driving license in his/her name from resident country for a minimum of period of 1 year.
- Passport holders from UK, USA, France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Austria, Ireland, Spain,
- Norway, Canada, Poland, Finland, Republic of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Romania, are allowed to rent a vehicle in the Sultanate of Oman while on visit/transit/or tourist visa, based on their original driving licenses issued from the above countries. Visitors from Republic of Korea, Japan, Turkey and Greece are required to get an English translation of their license from their Embassy/or Consulate here in the Sultanate of Oman prior to driving a vehicle.
